Evidence Based Parent Training Accreditation Launch Event

Time: 15:00 – 16:30
Location: Online

About this Workshop

The BABCP are delighted to announce the launch of a new accreditation pathway for Evidence Based Parent Training Practitioners. Evidence Based Parent Training (EBPT) for parents and carers of children and young people with behavioural difficulties forms part of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health (CYP MH) Initiative and from November  EBPT practitioners who have completed a BABCP Level 2 accredited course will be eligible to apply for practitioner accreditation.

The event is an online webinar to celebrate the launch of the accreditation pathway. This will include an introduction from Professor Chris Brannigan, the EBPT working party Chair, followed by an overview of the new Accreditation Process from our Accreditation Team. EBPT course directors and key EBPT practitioners will then share their experiences of parenting Training in a variety of settings. This will be followed by a Q & A session.

This event can be used as CPD hours and will be open to EBPT practitioners and supervisors, CYP MH course directors and staff, and BABCP members with an interest in Parent Training work.

As part of this launch, the BABCP are also hoping to gather interest to set up an EBPT Special Interest Group (SIG). It is hoped this will be an EBPT community, comprising a committee, with a shared interest in advancing Parent Training work. The aim of this will be to promote the organisation, provide a forum for discussion and facilitate CPD and dissemination of information. They will be looking to gather support from interested members for our SIG proposal at the end of the launch.
