ABOUT THE EVENT
Psychoeducation is considered a gold standard first line intervention in the care of children with tic disorders, their families, and schools. The training day will cover the content of psychoeducational information, how this can be delivered and role play opportunities for clinicians to practice skills in delivery. Materials will be provided after the training to enable clinicians to use this within their own practice. There will be opportunity for a question and answers session during the day.
SPEAKERS
Dr Nimmi Parikh is a Senior Clinical Psychologist. She has worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital for several years within Paediatric Health and specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and prior to this worked in community CAMHS. She specialises in the assessment and treatment of children with tics, neurodevelopmental disorders, and co-occurring mental health problems.
Samantha Olsen is a 2nd year trainee clinical psychologist, currently on placement within the Tic Disorder Service at GOSH.
