ABOUT THE EVENT

This training will cover the following: key terms and definitions, use of pronouns, the effects of prejudice and discrimination, challenging oppressive behaviour/language, and practical ways to support trans people and make your practice and/or physical space more trans inclusive.

Learning takes place through a mix of group discussions, real-life case studies, Q&A sessions, and workshop activities. Proud2Be will provide a participative approach to learning and always aim to meet you at your own level of understanding and knowledge. Sessions are engaging, fun and interactive.

SPEAKERS

Twins Max and Maya Price are founders of Proud2Be, a grassroots user-led social enterprise that supports all LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, questioning, queer, intersex, asexual, pansexual, non-binary + more) people in Devon and beyond, to lead empowered, fulfilled, and authentic lives.

Max and Maya have over a decade of experience leading a social enterprise through austerity, and a worldwide pandemic.

They have experience working with people of all ages, leading groups, organising events, bringing in and managing over £700,000 of grant income into the organisation.

They regularly work alongside individuals and organisations, to help increase confidence around supporting LGBTQ+ people.

They are regular keynote speakers at conferences and in 2015, they spoke at the first-ever TEDxTotnes. Their talk ‘How Shame Made Us Proud2Be’ was released and chosen by Tedx to be promoted to their 3 million YouTube subscribers.
